Intrade has opened a market on Rod Blagojevich to plead guilty to, or be found guilty of, corruption.

Contract Rules:

This contract will settle (expire) at 100 ($10.00) if:

The defendant is found guilty of at least one charge of corruption in a trial by jury or judge
The defendant pleads guilty to at least one charge of corruption

The contract will settle (expire) at 0 ($0.00) if (including, but not limited to):

The defendant is found not guilty in a trial by jury or judge
All charges are dropped
The case is dismissed
There is a mistrial
The defendant pleads guilty to lesser charges only as part of a plea agreement (please note that if defendant pleads guilty to any of the original charges as part of plea agreement the contract will expire at 100

This market covers only United States v. Rod R. Blagojevich, et al., 08 CR 888 (N.D. IL). Any other criminal or civil cases will not be considered when expiring this market.

The contracts will be paused if possible when the jury is due to announce its verdict and will be expired as soon as that decision is made public.

The end date on the contract is for indication purposes only. This date may be extended if necessary.

The Exchange reserves the right to invoke Contract Rule 1.8 (Time Protection) if deemed appropriate.

Any changes to the result after the contract has expired will not be taken into account - Exchange Rule 1.4
