Intrade has opened a market on the 2008 US Presidential Election, scheduled for Tuesday November 4th, being postponed to a later date. This market can be found under Politics -- 2008 US Election -- Will the US Presidential Election be Postponed?

Contract Rules:

This contract will settle (expire) at 100 ($10.00) if the 2008 US Presidential Election is postponed from it's scheduled date of November 4th 2008

The contract will settle (expire) at 0 ($0.00) if the 2008 US Presidential Election is NOT postponed from it's scheduled date of November 4th 2008

Expiry will be based on official announcements from the Federal Election Commission, as reported by three independent and reliable media sources.

For expiry purposes a postponement is considered a rescheduling of the date of the election to a date later than November 4th 2008. This also includes an indefinate postponement.

Due to the nature of this contract please also see Contract Rule 1.7 Unforeseen Circumstances.

The Exchange reserves the right to invoke Contract Rule 1.8 (Time Protection) if deemed appropriate.

Any changes to the result after the contract has expired will not be taken into account - Exchange Rule 1.4
