The Exchange has listed contracts on the possibility of the Republican and Democatic party conventions in 2008 being "brokered". These contracts can be found under Politics -- 2008 US Election -- Brokered Party Conventions in 2008.
Contract Rules:
This contract will settle (expire) at 100 ($10.00) if the 2008 Presidential nominee from the party specified in the contract is selected at a brokered party convention.
The contract will settle (expire) at 0 ($0.00) if the 2008 Presidential nominee from the party specified in the contract is NOT selected at a brokered party convention.
If the Presidential nominee is not selected on the first delegate vote of the party convention the convention will be considered ?brokered? (i.e. it takes multiple rounds of voting by party delegates to decide the nominee).
Expiry will be based on official public announcements from the party convention, as reported in three independent and reliable media sources.

The Exchange reserves the right to invoke Contract Rule 1.8 (Time Protection) if deemed appropriate.
Any changes to the result after the contract has expired will not be taken into account - Exchange Rule 1.4
