The Exchange has now listed
contracts on Alberto Gonzales resigning from his position as Attorney General
of the United States. These contracts can be found under Current Events -- White House -- Alberto Gonzales Resignation.
A contract will settle at 100 ($10.00) if Alberto Gonzales resigns, retires or is removed as the Attorney General of the United States before 11:59:59pm ET on the date specified in the contract.
A contract will settle at 0 ($0.00) if there is no departure, or announcement of departure, of Alberto Gonzales as Attorney General of the United States before 11:59:59pm ET on the date specified in the contract.
Settlement and expiry will be based on official announcements from (but not limited to) the White House or Department of Justice and reported in three independent and reliable media sources.
A resignation does not have to result in the actual departure by the contract expiry date but rather the announcement of the resignation must be made and not rejected by that time/date. The contract will not be expired if a tendered resignation is not accepted.
A Departure/Resignation may be
'forced' or 'voluntary'.
These contracts do not cover the death of the person named
in the contract. In the event of the named person's death before the expiry
date of the contract the contract will be unwound, all trades reversed and all
trading fees refunded.
