Intrade has opened a market for the Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee to contest the 2012 election. This market can be found under Politics > 1012 US Elections.
At present we have Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton listed as possibilities, but the market is open for sensible suggestions. We will not be listing a market for the Republican Vice-Presidential nominee just yet as there is not a lot of clarity regarding possible contenders for the GOP nominations.
A contract will settle (expire) at 100 ($10.00) if the individual named in the contract is announced as the Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee to contest the 2012 Presidential election.
The contract will settle (expire) at 0 ($0.00) if the individual named in the contract is NOT announced as the Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee to contest the 2012 Presidential election.
Final expiry of the nominee will be made once the nomination is made official at the party convention. This expiry will be final and any changes to the nominee after expiry, for whatever reason, will not be considered.
Expiry will be final and any changes to the nominee after expiry, for whatever reason, will not be considered
In the event of the death of one of the candidates the following steps will be taken:
1. All contracts in the group will be paused and expired at the last closing price set for each contract
2. A new market will be listed for the remaining candidates
This market is open for sensible suggestions. If you would like a name to be added to please forward to your suggestion to firstname.lastname@example.org.
THESE CONTRACTS ARE NOT LINKED FOR MARGINING PURPOSES. YOU WILL BE MARGINED INDIVIDUALLY ON EACH POSITION.
Any changes to the result after the contract has expired will not be taken into account - Contract Rule 1.4
Due to the nature of this prediction market contract you are obligated to read Contract Rule 1.7 (Unforeseen Circumstances) and Contract Rule 1.8 (Time Protection). Intrade may invoke these rules in its absolute discretion if deemed appropriate.
Please contact the exchange by emailing email@example.com if you have any questions regarding this contract or interpretation of these contract specific rules, related exchange news articles or exchange rules before you place an order to trade.
