A contract will settle (expire) at 100 ($10.00) if voter turnout in the 2008 Presidential Election is greater than the percentage specified in the contract.

The contract will settle (expire) at 0 ($0.00) if voter turnout in the 2008 Presidential Election is equal to or less than the percentage specified in the contract.

Expiry will be based on official figures published/announced by Federal Election Commission (FEC) and as reported by three independent and reliable media sources.

Clarification (Sept 1st): If the FEC does not publish the information required for expiry another source of information will be used. This will be an official release from an agency of the United States government, such as the United States Census Bureau.

For expiry purposes voter turnout is defined as the "percentage of voting age population casting a vote for president".

Clarification (31 Oct): The voting age population? is not restricted to US citizens only.

The Exchange reserves the right to invoke Contract Rule 1.8 (Time Protection) if deemed appropriate.

Any changes to the result after the contract has expired will not be taken into account - Exchange Rule 1.4
